bureavii Japanese GardensHere is a rhododendron for the foliage collector. The leaves are very dark green and shiny! The undersides are coated with a thick orange felt called indumentum, which is prized by species enthusiasts. When the new foliage comes out, it is covered with a white dusting called tomentum. The dusting persists for a few months, adding to the beauty of the leaves. Easy to grow, this one has lovely pure white flowers held in perfect ball shaped trusses.
